Let Us Create a Beautiful Bathroom for You!

Whether you have an old bathroom that needs to be updated, or are looking to put in a bathroom from scratch, you have come to the right place!

At Rich’s Right Touch, we can help you redesign an old bathroom or shower, or update blueprints that are already done.

BELOW is a bathroom that we redesigned for our client.  The original design had a smaller shower which we made larger and included a bench to sit on.  We suggested two rain shower heads instead of one and cut in a shelf for shampoo bottles, etc.  The shower is 3-sided for more room and we added a soffet at the top to complete the look.

In our wall tile design, we carried the theme right on through to match over the jacuzzi and added a step up to the jacuzzi.  We added a half wall to break up the space between the counter and cabinets which gives each area its own special look.

Finally, we asked the client if she would like to have a heated floor since the tiles can be cold on the feet during the winter.  She said she had never thought about it, but would love it.  Since then, she has mentioned to us and other clients how happy she was that we added that feature to her floor.

ANOTHER client called us to update his shower.  It was old and they wanted a complete face lift.  So, the “Go To Guys” went to work.  They helped the client choose the type of tile, color scheme and design they wanted for their new shower.

We added backing (red waterproof material) that was missing from the old installation, so the new shower would not leak as the old one had,

and created a contrasting design along with a cut out for shampoo which they did not have before.

The new shower looked much larger than the old one.  Added a different type of light with an exhaust vent in it and voila!

BATHROOM: Another bathroom gets a facelift!

IMAG0007-2   IMAG0008-2 We put on a new custom counter made out of tile, against the backsplash we had already inserted out of a contrasting design and prepped the makeup table area.

IMAG0043-2 IMAG0044-2 These photos show how we added the built-in tub, and the shower is almost completed with the contrasting design.  You will notice that we have a double pattern in the shower, have added the bench, cutout area for shampoos and two shower heads.

Below are photos showing the finished custom cabinets with tiled top, new sinks and fawcets, makeup area table, built in tub, completed shower and completed floor with matching tile and accents.  A gorgeous bathroom that anyone would be proud of to be sure!  What is most important is that the client was extremely happy with the completed look!

Flipping A House? Call Rich’s Right Touch

The housing market is beginning to come back a little at a time, and we see it happening here in NC.  We have helped clients who are into house flipping many times.  The houses we personally managed sold in less than a week and were profitable.

Here are some helpful hints:

  • Buy the house you want flipped in a decent neighborhood.  Check out what is around it, and drive through at different times of the day so see what’s going on before you purchase.
  • Bring in a professional who can give you an estimate of what it will cost to remodel the existing house.  That’s where we come in!  We have done it and we know our business.  If you make money, we will also.  We will do a thorough check on the house and let you know if it’s even worth buying.  We don’t want you to waste your money or get into a house you won’t be able to sell.
  • One of our biggest recommendations – Stay with neutral and earth tone colors when painting the walls, doing counters and tile.  We can help you find some great accent colors when you begin with a neutral base.  This isn’t about what YOU like – it’s about what the majority of possible BUYERS will like.
  • Don’t overspend on accessories like lighting and fixtures.  You can make it look really nice without overspending.  We can also find some great deals for you.
  • Carpeting and tile can be done very inexpensively and still look really nice.  You don’t need the most expensive quality out there.

If you need some help, please call us and we can go over everything with you, so you won’t make a big mistake.

Update Your Kitchen With New Countertop

Is your kitchen outdated and looking drab?  Updating your countertop might just be the perfect solution without doing a major overhaul like the custom countertop we did below.

The customer was tired of the old countertop and it was showing wear.  We came in, worked with the customer to pick out new colors for the top and a new backsplash.  Then we customized it just the way the customer wanted it creating an overhang on the side so bar stools could be added making the area more friendly and cozy.  See before and after shots:

BEFORE:

AFTER:  Note, the color is more in the blue hues.  Lighting doesn’t reflect that in picture #1.

With the new color , custom design, and backsplash, this kitchen now looks more in line with today’s kitchens.

Laminate or Hardwood Floor?

There are pros and cons to adding either a laminate or hardwood floor.  Some folks think the laminate floor is less expensive, and is easier to care for while others feel that the hardwood floor will last longer.  Below are two examples of both a laminate floor and a hardwood floor installations:

Laminate Floor put down on cement basement floor.

As you can see, the laminate floor comes already done in your chosen color with a finished surface.  The laminte floors are beautiful and install nicely, even over rough surfaces like a cement basement floor.  It adds a very nice touch to really spruce up a room, and is very easy to care for.

Hardwood Floor – This particular type of wood is cut, unfinished maple installed over a base subfloor.

This project has hardwoods running all through the main floor with exception to the bedrooms.  The owner was very specific on which way the direction of the floor should flow.

Below: This photo was taken while we were standing on the stairs looking down at the floor.  The customer chose the color of stain they wanted which brings out the characteristics of the hardwoods, then a sealer is put over that to give it shine and let the rich grains of the floor shine through.  The wooden floors get richer with age.

If it’s a flooring project you have in mind, give us a call and we’ll schedule some time to get together and see what would work best for you.  Whether it’s a laminate floor or a hardwood floor, it’s all a matter of personal preference.

Whatever the project, we’ve got you covered!  Rich’s Right Touch – 336-471-6126

Before and After Bathroom

We recently had the opportunity to bid on a bathroom project.  The previous contractor gave a very large price just to replace the tub.  We were able to give our customer a new tub, wall tile, all new fixtures, new tiled floor and cabinet for the same price she would have paid for just the tub.  We are doing our best during these difficult times to offer more value at a better price.  See the before and after shots below.

Much nicer in deed!  Call us for your next project. I know we can give you quality at a better price.  Rich’s Right Touch – 336-471-6126

Don’t Move – Just Remodel

House got you down?  Think of moving from your old house?

You don’t need to move, Rich’s Right Touch may be the best solution for you. Your future will probably be affected if you choose to move elsewhere. Your present home might not have the space that you will need particularly if you have got an expanding family. Where you currently live has been costing you more money to maintain it, therefore you ask yourself if the grass is greener in another yard. In the present day market a home renovation is one of the preferred choices, to make your current home more comfy.

To begin with you should have a maintenance repair plan. This plan of action really should begin with the issues which you can notice. These are definitely repairs that have to be finished, even before you consider adding something completely new. Your home needs to use the least amount of energy to sustain comfortable living quarters, and these days losing energy is a significant issue for many people, so do not overlook energy efficient windows and insulation.  Seal these up tight, and get reduced utility bills each month.

Then perhaps think about a kitchen renovation with a bathroom remodel or even room additions. Did you know that outdated kitchen and bathroom facilities can be using as much as 70% more power compared to the newer more economical appliances and equipment?

You will love the outcome of your home renovation regardless of what amount you decide to spend. The value of your house will increase after a great renovation project, and yes the remodeling expenses have been taken into consideration as well. But because you have decided to stay in the house, you’ll need to take a look at your habits to see what’s missing. By employing the assistance of a residential contractor, you’ll be able to figure out what services you will require. Your renovation venture can save you money by just fixing a few of the energy problems. While you are revitalizing your home you will want to enhance the tranquility of your house as well as how you connect to the outside world therefore making your home more liveable. So why not begin right now by upgrading your present home?

Your renovation contractor shall be accountable to you for your home improvement. His expertise will allow you to forget about most of the renovation and building, as his team and support will let you know about all of the required permits and regulatory waivers. Before your contractor commences make sure that he is aware and agrees on your spending plan along with the requirements of your venture. A majority of general contractors are honest, but there is always the chance of employing an inexperienced one. So make sure you talk to your contractor and ask for references before you decide to agree to and sign any contracts. Once you have done your homework and research you can then start to renovate your old home into something completely new and attractive without ever moving.

It is sometimes easy to become accustomed to how your house looks. We tend to deal with what we have and overlook the issues in our home. Really, if your kitchen is not functional then you should not be forced to deal with it. Why not make daily life a lot easier for you and give your kitchen a brand new look which includes new equipment? Kitchen restoration is generally a large job, but as soon as it is finished, you will wonder how you ever lived with it for so long. It’ll make life much simpler, and your property value will immediately be increased. Never fear if you have no experience in renovations, all you require is a little bit of guidance from a professional, Rich’s Right Touch.

Tip: How to Keep Debris From Falling While Drilling

Drilling a hole in the wall doesn’t have to be messy.  Just stick a Post-It note folded in half on the wal just below the place you are drilling and catch the debris before it falls on the floor.  Nice and tidy!

Tip: How To Keep Your Nail Straight

Keep Your Nail Straight

Use a wide tooth comb to help keep that nail in place and straight.

Tip: How To Keep Your Paint Brush From Dripping

Keep Paint Brush From Dripping

To keep that paint brush from dripping down the side of the can, put a large rubber band around the can and use it to scrape off excess paint instead of the side of the paint can.  Works great!
